PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) is an innovative technology used in dental and periodontal surgery to promote tissue regeneration and accelerate healing. This process relies on the patient’s own blood components, transformed into a concentrate of platelets and immune cells.
Before or during a surgical procedure (bone graft, sinus lift, extraction), the dentist takes a small blood sample in several tubes. These tubes are immediately placed in a centrifuge to separate the blood components and isolate the fibrin rich in platelets and natural growth factors.
The PRF obtained appears as a soft, gelatinous membrane, which is then applied directly to the surgical site. It can also be mixed with bone graft material to enhance integration and regeneration.
